SYNOPSIS:
The City of Melville is seeking a dedicated and motivated Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the broader Information Technology Service Area.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, strives for excellence and brings a proactive and eager-to-learn approach to supporting a fast-moving and innovative team.
Location: City of Melville Civic Centre
Salary: $63,104.06 - $76,717.21 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
What You’ll Be Doing
Working closely with the CIO and IT team, you will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the Service Area by:
- Delivering a broad range of administrative and business support services
- Preparing, compiling, and managing documentation and correspondence to support effective communication and decision-making
- Drafting routine responses on behalf of the CIO and other leaders within the Service Area
- Managing and prioritising incoming communication, including undertaking investigations to resolve issues where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records, databases, and corporate information systems
- Coordinating agendas, minutes, and meeting documentation within required timeframes
- Organising conferences, training sessions, meeting rooms, travel arrangements, and associated logistics
- Providing qualified liaison with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers
- Supporting the development and review of systems, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contributing to cross-functional teamwork and sharing knowledge with other Business Support Officers

Appointments may be made at Level 2 or Level 3 depending on qualifications and experience.
What You Will Bring:
- Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) with relevant administrative experience
- Sound organisational skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and stakeholder engagement
- Strong written skills including experience preparing agendas and minutes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with corporate databases or records systems
- Experience in local government, ERP systems such as Finance One or ECM records management will be highly regarded
