The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Pump Fitter to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to contribute their expertise to a growing and reputable organisation based in in Yarrawonga - Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Mechanical Work
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Fit, assemble, and install machinery and equipment, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and other mechanical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Identify potential hazards and proactively implement corrective actions to maintain a protected working environment.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with team members and other trades to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
- Report progress, issues, and equipment status to supervisors and relevant stakeholders promptly
Required Skills and Experience:
Education/Certificates
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining or Diesel Fitting)
- Valid High Risk Work Licence (desirable)
- White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate)
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence (manual preferred)
- Forklift and/or EWP Licence (advantageous)
- Confined Space and Working at Heights (preferred but not essential)
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in mechanical fitting, specifically with pump systems and dewatering equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in:
- Pump maintenance, overhauls, and repairs (submersible, centrifugal, diaphragm, etc.)
- Diagnosing faults and conducting preventative maintenance
- Pipework installations and fluid transfer systems
- Experience working in mining, civil, or industrial environments preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus
- Safety-focused with a strong understanding of WHS procedures and regulations
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment under minimal supervision
