The Opportunity

The Kids Research Institute Australia is committed to improving child health outcomes through high-impact, community-centred research.

Our Healthy Skin Team play an important role in achieving this vision with a wide range of projects that discover, treat and prevent infectious diseases, with a focus on the health of kids and families in Aboriginal communities.

The Healthy Skin team is looking for a Clinical Trial Coordinator (CTC) to primarily support the Staphylococcus aureus Network Adaptive Platform (SNAP) Trial, while also contributing to other clinical trials and research projects coordinated by the Healthy Skin Team at Perth Children’s Hospital.

About the SNAP Trial: SNAP is a large, global, multi-centre adaptive platform trial evaluating the best treatment strategies for Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia (SAB). The Kids leads the paediatric and youth component (SNAP-PY) and contributes to several sub-studies and international collaborations.

The CTC will work closely with clinicians, consumers, community representatives, and international researchers to ensure smooth trial operations across multiple sites. You will also support a portfolio of other paediatric clinical trials and research projects led by the Healthy Skin Team at a site level.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate day-to-day operations for the SNAP Trial and other Healthy Skin studies, including start-up, monitoring and closeout activities.

- Prepare and submit ethics and governance applications, amendments and reports (HREC, WAAHEC, RGS, etc.).

- Maintain regulatory documentation (TMF/ISF) and support protocol development, amendments and trial communications.

- Manage data collection, database query resolution, CRF tracking and overall data quality processes.

- Coordinate working groups and support development of culturally safe, consumer-friendly study materials.

- Contribute to research dissemination and participate in project planning, quality improvement and team meetings.





This position will be offered on a full-time basis, and will be based at our office in Nedlands with the option for flexible working arrangements.

About You

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working in a collaborative, purpose-driven research team and have the following skills and experiences:

Essential:

- Experience coordinating clinical trials, ideally in academic or hospital-based settings with at least 1 year of experience working in clinical trials.

- Experience preparing ethics and governance submissions.

- Knowledge of ICH-GCP and clinical research regulatory requirements.

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Experience with data management (ideally REDCap).

- Interest in paediatric infectious diseases, Aboriginal health and community-focused research.

Desirable:

- Experience in multi-site studies.

- Monitoring or site management experience.

- Experience supporting research outputs (reports, posters, abstracts) and grant writing.

- Familiarity with Canva or tools for consumer-facing resource development.
