Primary objective
Deliver prompt and efficient internal employee debt recovery to the Northern Territory Public Sector, in accordance with
relevant legislation.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake a range of financial functions including processing, certifying and quality assurance functions for the recovery
of overpaid salary and entitlements ensuring quality delivery to clients.
2.
Prepare and provide accurate and timely correspondence to clients including assisting with complex / difficult debt
recovery matters.
3. Contribute to developing a work setting of quality and customer focussed service delivery.
4. Provide input to the continuous improvement and development of operational processes and system enhancements.
5. Assist with ad hoc activities including compliance obligations and projects.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in the application of accounting and financial principles, practices, standards and legislated requirements.
2. Working knowledge of computerised financial systems and related software packages such as Microsoft Office with
intermediate levels in excel and a high attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with
diverse cultures.
4. Organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
5. Proven experience in dealing with sensitive matters where confidentiality and integrity is critical.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude, which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical
practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in a Finance related field.
