Position description
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Full -time Laboratory Aide to join our vibrant St Leonards Laboratory, NSW. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:
Receiving and checking labelling of samples, data entry, preparing and packing samples for transport, scanning of request forms, separating samples, distributing samples to the various departments for analysis, answering phone enquiries, picking up samples from doctors’ surgeries and hospital wards, and any other tasks, as required by the Laboratory Manager.
Full time shifts are rostered between 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, and participation in the weekend roster is mandator
Ideal candidate
We are proud to say we have a learning and supportive environment, and full training will be provided. The successful applicants will be highly motivated and competent. A background and experience in Pathology Laboratory services is preferred, and candidates should have a strong customer focus, with excellent presentation and communication skills. Experience in data entry would also be an advantage.
Applicants currently studying Science at University are encouraged to apply, with possible progression to a scientific role in the laboratory when a position becomes available.
