Our client distributes construction products across Australia and NZ. They are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to manage the WA business. The business operates from two sites in Perth and one regionally based facility. The position involves total accountability for the P&L; of the business requiring a strong focus on sales and operational performance. The business prides itself on achieving a high level of DIFOT as a key element of its value proposition. The better than industry DIFOT performance underpins the achievement of higher than industry returns which is essential for funding the overall growth ambitions of the business.

Role Dimensions

- Full P&L; responsibility for a business generating circa $70m
- Approximately 80 FTEs equally split between sales and operations
- All sites have both sales and warehouse operations
- Typically the sites operate on a two shift 5 day a week roster

Responsibilities

- Reporting to the CEO: your responsibilities consist of the following:
- Ensuring the efficient and safe operations across the entire site.
- Proactive engagement with work colleagues to create a positive work environment where people are motivated to succeed.
- Be visible in the marketplace as well as across operations to ensure you have a firsthand understanding of all aspects of the business.
- Drive the sales team to maximize sales to existing customers whilst seeking out recent business.




- Drive the operational team to achieve DIFOT targets to support revenue and margin objectives.
- Budgeting, forecasting and monitoring key performance indicators and taking real time action to drive results is paramount.
- Be an active member of the ELT to help identify and drive growth initiative across the entire business portfolio.

Key Capabilities and Experience

- A minimum of 5 years experience in a P&L; role involving revenue above $50m.
- Experience in leading multi-disciplined teams in excess of 50 FTEs.
- A demonstrated ability to achieve profitable growth in highly competitive markets.
- Be an excellent communicator that enables you to encourage, motivate and coach people to perform at their best.
- Have strong analytical and cost management skills.
