The Role
Reporting to a professional and engaged board, the CEO will drive strategic evolution while overseeing daily operations, governance, and stakeholder relationships. Leading a skilled team across finance, communications, membership, and insurance, the CEO will represent the network nationally—from sale yards to government.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive strategic transformation aligned with board direction
- Ensure delivery of value-added services to members
- Lead and manage a remote, high‑performing operational team
- Build solid relationships across membership, government, and industry
- Represent the network at key events and industry forums
- Oversee finance, training programs, and digital strategy
- Promote member‑first culture and national advocacy efforts
About You
You are a commercially savvy leader with deep connections to Australian agriculture and a passion for rural industries. You’re confident in strategy, governance, and financial oversight and thrive in environments where you can wear both paddock boots and a boardroom suit.
Required Experience & Competencies
- Proven executive leadership in agriculture or related sectors
- Experience managing dispersed or remote teams
- Strong governance, finance, and strategic planning skills
- Natural relationship‑building ability across rural and political spheres
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Cultural alignment with regional, member‑driven values
Desired Skills (Nice to Have)
- NFP experience
- Industry advocacy
- CRM capability
