Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Physiotherapist to join the KAW Older Adults Mental Health Unit Bundoora.

About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

The KAW Older Adults Mental Health Unit (KAWAMHU) is a 15 Bed Acute Inpatient Unit which provides comprehensive treatment and support to people who are in an acute phase of mental illness, and are unable to be provided treatment at home.

We offer holistic and evidence-based care, utilising both the safewards and recovery models of care.

We work collaboratively with our patients, families and or significant others to achieve quality care outcomes.

The Grade 2 Physiotherapist has responsibility for the provision of high level, evidence-based physiotherapy. The role will require flexibility, good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

evidence-based physiotherapy care to consumers at KAW Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit located at Bundoora Campus

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Experience and demonstrated expertise with managing patients in mental health setting
- A background which includes significant clinical experience and skills in working with older adults to those over 65 years of age who may also have multiple comorbidities and may include history of falls/high falls risk)
- Demonstrated capability in service innovation and development.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
