About Us:
Complete Food Services is a family-owned, independent wholesale food distributor servicing cafés, restaurants, hotels and retail food outlets across Melbourne. We offer a wide range of Australian brands, private label lines and exclusive imports.
Role Purpose
You’ll lead the purchasing, storage and distribution operations to ensure we meet customer demand, maintain cost-efficiency and support business growth. You’ll develop strategy, oversee daily operations and manage a team to deliver on company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor strategies, plans and policies for purchasing, storage and distribution aligned with business objectives.
- Design and execute stock-management plans to keep inventory at optimal levels while controlling cost.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure required quality, cost and delivery standards.
- Review and oversee storage and inventory systems to meet supply demands, align with product range (dry goods, dairy/deli, imported items) and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Oversee the recording system tracking movement of supplies and finished goods; ensure timely re-ordering and restocking.
- Liaise with other departments (sales, customer service, logistics) and customers regarding outward goods, transport and delivery scheduling.
- Supervise all transactional records for purchasing, storage and distribution operations.
- Lead, direct and monitor the performance of the operations team; set objectives, provide coaching and drive continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (ideally in food wholesale/ distribution) in supply chain, inventory, purchasing and distribution roles.
- Robust negotiation skills with suppliers and service providers.
- Good understanding of warehouse/inventory management systems and best practice.
- Ability to analyse data, make decisions on reorder levels, storage usage and cost efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills—working with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience in leading teams, setting performance metrics and delivering results.

Full-Time Position
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 depending upon the experience.
