With a strong focus on safety, innovation, and efficiency, we are expanding our team and seeking a dynamic Production and WHS Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations and ensure a safe, productive workplace.
The Production & WHS Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. This dual role is responsible for managing production schedules, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and company policies.
You’ll play a key role in optimising efficiency, fostering a strong safety culture, and delivering quality products on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities to meet targets and deadlines.
- Manage a team of machine operators and assembly workers.
- Monitor workflow, inventory levels, and staff performance to maintain optimal efficiency.
- Implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase productivity.
- Ensure quality control standards are met at every stage of manufacturing.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify solutions efficiently.
Work Health & Safety (WHS):
- Maintain and continuously improve WHS policies, systems, and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Deliver WHS training and toolbox talks for all production staff.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation.
- Manage injury management and return-to-work programs.
About You:
- Proven experience in a Production Management role within manufacturing (preferably timber, joinery, or building materials).
- Strong understanding of Work Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Ability to analyse data, drive improvements, and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Manufacturing, Engineering, or WHS (highly regarded).
Required skills and qualifications:
- Forklift ticket
- Organisational skills
- Be punctual
- Ability to follow instructions both verbally and written
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret and process warehouse documentation, such as shipping invoices, picking lists and bills of lading
- Forward thinker. Using initiative to maintain production flow.
- Ability to lift, move, load and unload heavy items
- No physical restrictions and able to carry out heavy lifting and manual labour.
- Good numerical skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision and guidance
- Flexible work hours, including overtime
