The Learning and Development function at UOW Academy sits within the People & Culture division, an integral part of the Vice President Operations portfolio. The Academy supports the academic workforce by enhancing teaching and learning capability across all career stages. Working in close collaboration with academic governance, faculties, and professional learning teams, the area delivers contemporary, evidence-informed development programs, supports teaching excellence initiatives, and embeds continuous improvement practices. It operates in a collaborative, people-centred setting that values innovation, capability-building, and technology-enhanced learning to improve student outcomes and support career progression.
The Learning & Development Consultant (Teaching & Learning) will coordinate and support the design, development, and delivery of academic development initiatives that build teaching capability and improve student learning outcomes. Acting as a key liaison between faculties, academic experts, and internal and external stakeholders, the role promotes engagement in professional development,
supports teaching awards and peer evaluation programs, and integrates learning outcomes into teaching practice. With a collaborative, technology-aware approach, the consultant contributes to continuous improvement, tracks program effectiveness, and ensures offerings align with institutional education priorities and academic career progression frameworks.
