We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker to assist a client living with cerebral palsy. This role involves providing high-quality personal care, promoting independence, and enhancing the client’s daily wellbeing.
About the Role
You will support the client with activities of daily living, mobility, personal care, and community access. We are looking for someone who is patient, respectful, and committed to providing person-centred support that upholds dignity, safety, and choice at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and repositioning using appropriate equipment
- Support with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are followed
- Provide medication prompts and basic wellbeing checks (as per care plan)
- Offer companionship, emotional support, and social engagement
- Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment
- Assist with community access, outings, and appointments (as required)
- Document progress notes and report any changes in health, behaviour, or care needs
✔ Requirements
- Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
- Experience supporting clients with cerebral palsy or complex physical needs (highly regarded)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (highly preferred)
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to person-centred care, safety, and dignity
