Marketing Coordinator - Perth
A Japanese food specialist importer and distributor supplying retail, wholesale and foodservice customers across Western Australia is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support the planning, coordination and execution of marketing activities for its expanding product portfolio.
This role is ideal for an early-career marketing qualified familiar with Japanese food categories who enjoys hands-on coordination work across diverse sales channels. The role is full time and ongoing.

Location – Perth Airport WA
Salary – negotiable in the range $75k to $80k plus superannuation p.a.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research on consumer preferences, competitor activity and category trends relevant to Japanese food products.
- Assist in analysing sales data and preparing written reports with insights and recommendations for management.
- Contribute to marketing plans, product positioning advice and promotional scheduling.
- Coordinate marketing activities including promotional materials, point-of-sale tools, simple digital support, product sampling and trade promotions.
- Liaise with suppliers—including Japanese suppliers—regarding product information, brand guidelines and marketing approvals.
- Support engagement with retailers, restaurants, distributors and chefs for product training, displays and promotional initiatives.
- Help evaluate marketing campaigns using agreed KPIs and prepare summary reports.
- Attend trade shows and industry events as required.
Skills & Experience
Applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- A Bachelor-level qualification in Marketing, Business, Commerce or a closely related discipline.
- At least 1, or more years Professional experience supporting marketing coordination, ideally within FMCG, food import, food distribution ideally within Asian/Japanese food categories
- Hands-on experience conducting store checks,
basic market research, and preparing promotional or product materials.
- Exposure to sales-linked marketing tasks, including product presentation, sampling preparation, customer engagement and POS coordination.
- Ability to interpret data and prepare clear written observations or reports.
- Capacity to work with culturally diverse suppliers and customers; familiarity with Japanese food products or communication with Japanese suppliers is highly regarded.
- Fluency in Japanese, or demonstrated experience engaging with Japanese stakeholders, is advantageous.
- A current WA driver’s licence and willingness to conduct regular store visits.
