About the Opportunity
WAAPA is seeking an Audio Supervisor to ensure the efficient operation of WAAPA’s performance spaces. This position supports the teaching and production demands of WAAPA by overseeing all audio equipment and supervising audio technicians. The role involves hands-on technical support for performances and productions. The Audio Supervisor ensures all activities align with WAAPA’s educational and commercial objectives, while upholding safety standards and contributing to the continuous improvement of production processes.
Some evening and weekend work will be required in this role.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have significant experience as an Audio Supervisor, Audio Engineer/Technician and operator. You will be able to demonstrate:
Proven experience managing audio systems and infrastructure in performing arts and live production environments including operation and maintenance of professional audio consoles (e.g. Yamaha, DIGICo, Avid), digital networks and communications systems (e.g. Dante, AVB, AES67 Riedel).
Proven track record of RF coordination, frequency planning and interference management.
Experience supervising or mentoring technical staff or students in audio operation
The ability to act with high levels of autonomy, initiative, adaptability, and with attention to detail.
Essential Qualifications
White Card (WHS)
EWP License
Desirable
Have or be prepared to attain:
Licence to perform rigging at basic/intermediate rigging level
Working at Height certification.
First Aid Certificate
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
