Join ASIC's Criminal Intelligence Unit as a Taskforce Project Officer, supporting multi-agency taskforces and working groups to combat responsible financial crime. In this pivotal role, you'll plan and manage key business activities, prepare governance and briefing materials and collaborate with internal stakeholders and partner agencies to deliver operational updates and strategic outcomes.
- Location - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Canberra
- Salary starting from $127,641 (depending on experience) plus 15.4% superannuation

The team
The Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) within ASIC's Registry and Intelligence Group leads the criminal intelligence function to detect and assess threats from criminal activity, supporting ASIC's intelligence-led regulatory approach.
The team collaborates across ASIC to share intelligence for effective regulatory and enforcement outcomes, while managing relationships with law enforcement and government partners to combat serious and organised crime. CIU drives multi-agency efforts against financial crime through ASIC's contributions to the Serious Financial Crime Taskforce, Fraud Fusion Taskforce and FINTEL Alliance.
The key duties of the position include
The role
As a Taskforce Project Officer, you will:
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and briefing materials to support ASIC's taskforce and working group commitments.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, align business goals and manage expectations to deliver outcomes.
- Develop and maintain reporting standards, ensuring compliance with governance, risk controls and organisational priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (eg. Strategic Reporting, Procurement, Privacy, Cyber Security) to deliver projects efficiently.
- Manage compliance tasks, including gatekeeper lists, breach notifications, legal instruments and privacy impact assessments.
- Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
