About the work unit / facility
The Central Sterilising Department (CSD) at Townsville University Hospital plays a vital role in infection control and patient safety. Our team ensures the decontamination and sterilisation of reusable medical devices (RMDs) for operating theatres, wards, oral health, and other hospital departments. We also provide training and support to CSD teams across Townsville HHS facilities.

Competitive salary and benefits
- Salary between $2624.50 – $2759.10 per fortnight (CA3).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your prospect
As a Dental Assistant (CA3) in the Central Sterilising Department, you will ensure the safe and effective sterilisation of dental instruments and reusable medical devices. You will support the Senior Dental Assistant and collaborate with oral health services to maintain compliance with Australian Standards and infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting (mandatory).
- Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or willingness to complete within 12 months.
- Evidence of vaccination or immunity for VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
- Ability to work shifts in accordance with roster requirements.
- A probationary period may apply.
