The Opportunity
Partnered with our client Ingot Foundry Marine, we have an opportunity for an Engineering Trade Assistant who is keen to get their hands on the tools and perform a wide variety of jobs to assist the team. Every day will be different, providing variety and new learning opportunities.
This position is full-time and based at Hemmant.
Job Details
Ingot Foundry Marine Engineering are a market leader in marine engineering and manufacturing. You will have the opportunity to assist on various machines (CNC, Manual lathes, Mills) to produce a wide range of parts, predominately for marine vessels. There will also be the manufacturing of new parts as well as the repair and maintenance of existing parts. Reading engineering drawings and plans would be an advantage. Additionally, there is some small welding duties available, repairing castings and welding up jigs and fixtures and custom fabricating rudders. Any experience with CAD/CAM would also be advantageous.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Following Safety directions
- Assisting Tradespeople with tasks
- Using tools and equipment
- Operating Forklift and gantry crane
- General Warehousing duties
- General Cleaning duties
- Receiving and dispatch
About You
The successful candidate will be someone who likes to be an all-rounder and help in multiple areas.
You must have excellent communication skills and be ready and willing to undertake physical work and get your hands dirty.
In addition to these qualities, you will:
- Have completed a minimum of year 10 with valuable results in English and Mathematics
- Have a driver's licence
- Have a construction White Card (or be willing to get one)
- Be safety-minded
- Be well presented
- Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions
- Work safely
- Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol, and Police Check
