Wellbeing Officer - Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE)

- Employment Type: Part Time, (56 hours per fortnight) Ongoing
- Location: Hamilton Campus
- Classification: Welfare Worker Class 2
- Salary Range: $74,162.40 - $82,2971.20 pro rata, plus superannuation

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting people through some of life's most challenging moments?
Join South West Healthcare's Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Program as a Wellbeing Officer, and play a key role in helping individuals, families and carers move towards recovery, safety and connection.

Based in Hamilton, you will be part of a compassionate and dedicated team providing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented support across our South West Mental Health catchment.

In this role, you will work alongside the Mental Health Community Support Service to provide psychosocial support to people aged 16 and over who have recently experienced a suicide attempt or are presenting with suicidal thoughts.You will collaborate closely with clinical staff to develop safety and wellbeing plans, connect clients with community supports, and help them achieve their goals over a three-month support period.

Some work may occur outside standard business hours, including weekends, to best meet client needs.

What you bring

- A relevant tertiary qualification in social or community services.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with individuals in crisis or with mental health concerns.
- Experience providing support under clinical or professional supervision.
- Strong commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.




- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with digital systems and record keeping.
- A current driver's licence is essential.
