Aquavue Beachfront Bar & Eatery is on the hunt for a passionate, energetic Head Chef to lead our kitchen crew and keep the good times (and great food) rolling.
About Us
Set right on the stunning Hervey Bay Esplanade, Aquavue is where locals and visitors come together to soak up the sun, sip delicious cocktails, and enjoy a menu that's as fresh and vibrant as the view.
Under new management, our slightly crazy (in the best way) team is all about fun, flavour, and friendly service. We're serious about good food, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Expect laughter, teamwork, and the occasional impromptu photo shoot for our socials.

About the Role
As our Head Chef, you'll be the creative heartbeat of our kitchen - bringing your culinary flair and leadership skills to craft mouthwatering dishes that make people smile.
You'll:
- Prepare, season and cook delicious meals (and cater to dietary requirements where needed)
- Keep presentation and quality top-notch, every plate matters!
- Lead and inspire the back-of-house team with energy and direction
- Create new menu items and specials that showcase local produce and seasonal flavours
- Manage kitchen operations including food safety, maintenance coordination, costings, and stock control
- Work closely with our owners and leadership team to keep Aquavue's standards sky-high

About You
You're a confident, creative, and motivated chef who thrives in a fast-paced beachside setting. You love bringing ideas to life and leading a team with positivity and professionalism.
You'll also:
- Hold a minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
- Have (or be willing to obtain) a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Bring at least 1 year's experience as a Head Chef or similar in a busy café or restaurant
- Stay calm under pressure and enjoy working as part of a fun, supportive team
- Be reliable, organised, and ready to make a long-term commitment
- Have full availability, including weekends, holidays, and the odd early start or late finish
- Take pride in your presentation and your plates - we eat with our eyes!
- Hold valid Australian work authorisation or possess a current work visa

Competitive salary package of $85,000+ commensurate with experience and qualifications.
