Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with serious complex mental health needs?

This role starts on Wednesday 12th November - Interviews will take place Friday the 7th of November through to 10thth of November and over the weekend given the urgency of the transition.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Complex Mental Health Nurses to join our team for our complex participants with challenging behaviors. This is a unique opportunity to work with a participant who requires intensive support, including managing challenging behaviors such as aggression, self-harm, property damage and other high-risk situations.

LOCATIONS INCLUDE: Austral and surroundings.

Hours required:



Must be available for rotational rosters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide personalized support to individuals with severe mental health challenges.

- Manage behaviors that may include aggression, self-harm, and other high-risk situations in a safe and professional manner.

- Assist with daily living tasks, promoting independence and improving quality of life.

- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.

- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records of incidents, progress, and observations.

- Provide emotional support and encourage positive behavior change.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times.

- Provide personal care on different levels depending on the participants needs.

Key Requirements:

- Experience working in mental health or a similar support role, particularly with individuals who exhibit severe challenging behaviors.

- A minimum of 2 years experience in mental health nursing is required.

- Strong understanding of mental health conditions and a willingness to work with complex and high-risk situations.





- Ability to remain calm and qualified in stressful and challenging circumstances.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to care.

- Relevant qualifications in mental health or related fields (preferred but not essential).

- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must have:

- Australian Drivers Licence

- Birth certificate or passport

- Current police check

- Police check must be within 6 months of application date

- NDIS Workers Check





- Working with Children Check

- First aid and CPR

- All certifications must be obtained before starting employment

- NDIS Orientation Module

- Visa or citizenship
