? MEET BRODIE

Brodie is 15 — loud, funny, and full of life.
He loves music you can feel, bike rides, hydrotherapy, taking selfies, and getting out and about with people who bring good energy.

He uses a wheelchair, but don't underestimate him — Brodie is determined enough to do everything with graded assistance and is building his capacity towards his goals. This position is about Brodie — his choices, his control, and his world.





Brodie lives with profound and multiple learning disabilities (cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, sensory-seeking behaviours, incontinence, non-verbal communication needs).
He communicates using AAC (TouchChat) and is developing new ways to express himself every day through positive behaviour support techniques that focus on communication, not control.

He doesn’t need saving — he needs people who see his spark and help him live fully, safely, and joyfully.

? ABOUT THE ROLE

A hybrid position blending hands-on 2:1 support with leadership and coordination.
You'll be Brodie's steady presence — supporting him directly while keeping his small team connected, consistent, and confident.

From home, you'll handle communication, rostering, and follow-through.
In person, you'll model calm, structured, strengths-based support that keeps Brodie's world running smoothly.

This role offers approximately 20–30 hours per week, with flexibility based on your availability and team needs.

? Support shifts are predominantly based around the school term, with a mix of mornings, afternoons, early evenings, weekends,



and school holiday shifts.

? WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Coordinate rosters and team communication

- Mentor and support staff through monthly check-ins and quarterly reviews

- Implement and model Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies that build communication and independence

- Work alongside Brodie during daily activities and community outings

- Maintain clear records and incident follow-ups

- Assist with onboarding and team information maintenance

- Formal performance management remains with Brodie’s Magic management

? WHO YOU ARE

- Experienced in supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD)

- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting people with complex needs

- Confident with epilepsy, autism, sensory seeking, incontinence, and non-verbal communication





- Skilled in using and teaching PBS techniques to build communication and self-expression

- Calm, professional, and dependable — others look to you when things get chaotic

- Organised and empathetic — you see potential, not problems
