Position Summary
The Event Planning Specialist delivers exceptional professional service and maintains a strong customer focus for all MICE and event clients, while providing administrative support to the Event Sales & Planning department to help maximize hotel revenue and profitability.
The Role
- Plan and manage events from contract stage to on the day execution.
- Ensure the events and catering system (Delphi) is always up to date and maintained to the highest standard.
- Complete and distribute detailed event orders to the operational teams ensuring all relevant information is listed and well understood.
- Attend and contribute to daily briefings, event confirmation meetings, and other relevant meetings.
- Assist with hotel inspections and promotions.
- Adhere to Capella standards for telephone etiquette and provide courteous service to clients.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain robust client relationships and develop sales initiatives.
Talent Profile
- Hospitality or Sales/ Marketing tertiary qualifications are preferred.
- Experiences: 2-year previous event planning / coordination experience in luxury hotels/resorts or hospitality sector.
- Knowledge of Hotel Property and Catering Management Systems (OPERA & Delphi).
- Proficient in Social Tables, MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Proven experience in providing administration support.
- Valid working rights in Australia.
