About the Role:

As part of our casual pool, you'll provide essential psychosocial support across various departments. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to address complex social and emotional needs of patients and families during challenging times.

Key Responsibilities:

- conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments
- develop and implement intervention plans
- provide crisis support and counselling services
- collaborate with healthcare teams and community services
- facilitate discharge planning and community connections

Appointment to the role will be at the AHP1 or AHP2 classification, dependent on the level of experience.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

About You:

To excel in this role, you will possess robust communication and assessment skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Be able to integrate models of social work practice and skills into action,



including writing timely comprehensive reports. Be prepared to work in a fast-paced working environment across two NALHN public hospitals where workspace and resources are shared. Weekend work and public holiday day work will be required.

Lyell McEwin Hospital – The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.
