In this role you will:
Prepare timely advice, reports, correspondence and briefing notes on legal issues including statutory interpretation in relation to QCS activities and the law reform initiatives of external agencies.
Liaise with Crown Law and other legal service providers to ensure a consistent, coordinated and effective approach to the provision of legal services involving QCS.
Undertake legal research, analysis, review and evaluation to ensure that QCS's activities, including its operations and procedures, satisfy public sector standards for accountability and effectiveness.
The essential requirements for this role are:
Able to establish priorities,
work under pressure and take ownership of own work while working collaboratively with team members to achieve agency objectives.
Possess valuable, clear oral and written communication skills developed within a legal environment with the ability to confidently present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner.
Demonstrates professionalism at all times, operating within the boundaries of the agency's processes and within legal and public policy constraints while acting as an effective representative of the agency.
Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients, treating them with courtesy and respect and being responsive to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements:
Admission as a solicitor or barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
A current Queensland Practising Certificate is preferred but not essential for this role.
