digital-first businesses disrupting industries of their own: eCommerce, SaaS, entertainment, Crypto, Gaming and Fintech.
Our service is month-to-month (think AWS for customer service), with approachable service models for startups, scaleups and Enterprise clients. We’re disrupting the traditional fixed-cost service model with a variable and elastic service model that grows in parallel with a company’s performance over time.
We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our rapidly expanding sales team and growth org. They will be working closely with the following executives, all based in the Melbourne office:
- Global Head of Sales
- Global Head of Marketing
- Chief Growth Officer
This role is about achieving results from an effective inbound pipeline, while also continuously finding ways to improve and grow the business, working collaboratively with department heads inside the Melbourne office of 10 people (all executives).

The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will contribute to the growth of Influx, primarily in the APAC Market and some limited coverage of EU. You will be responsible for the most critical parts of the sales journey with a diverse range of prospects that enter our sales pipeline.
You will collaborate with an amazing, international sales team that is passionate about progressive sales methodologies and creating tangible results. As our business development manager you will focus on finding, building and winning new business and clients. Either through a direct end-client approach or through a commercial collaboration, you know what it takes to win new business.
What you'll bring
- Proven track record of closing complex commercial opportunities
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales across Digital services, SaaS software, CX solutions or similar;
- Excellent communication skills. You can take the lead in a conversation, leave no room for interpretation, and you also know when it’s time to listen;
- Partnership building skills. You can build a strong partnership with multiple contacts at the customer and help them drive change;
- Entrepreneurial skills. You have a lot of energy, are persistent, excited about the potential of B2B relationships and you cannot wait to win!
Core Responsibilities
- Generate new business; you are in daily contact with potential customers – remote and on site when required;
- Uncover your prospect’s situation, pain and the impact they are looking to achieve,
match the right Influx solution to their requirements;
- Guide prospect through their buying journey and decision making hurdles; end-to-end sales cycle responsibility;
- Nurture and manage the sales pipeline using our various sales tools to conduct your activity via phone, email, Hubspot, LinkedIn, Sybill and Google Meet;
- In partnership with the SDR team - rapidly follow up on leads and run sales calls to qualify prospects;
- Communicate back to the company what you’re working on, why, what’s working or not, contribute actively and accurately to sales pipeline reporting and meetings;

Stretch Goals and Development
- Drive change in wider Influx business units based on feedback and learnings discovered from prospects and your market experience
- Develop and explore partnership relationships with relevant service partners to provide new business development channels for growth;
- Build out and demonstrate a successful strategy for new business growth, through laying the groundwork in new channels.

How the Recruitment Process Works
The first round will be an exploratory chat with either a recruiter or the head of sales. Then you’ll meet with the head of sales and chief growth officer. If successful after that, we run a recruitment test.
