As a Senior Analyst, Private Markets,
you will play a critical role in shaping ASIC's regulatory activities for private markets.Sydney or Melbourne$147,074 - $195,951 depending on experience (including 15.4% superannuation)PermanentApplications close at 11:59pm AEST, 6 August 2025The roleAs a Senior Analyst, Private Markets, You WillPartner with the Senior Leadership team and provide strategic advice and analysis on complex regulatory issues in private markets, delivering possible solutions to key challenges.Lead and manage projects that shape ASIC's regulatory priorities, interventions and law reforms in private markets.Utilise data-driven insights for surveillance, thematic reporting, and regulatory decision-making.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government, regulators, and industry leaders.Support industry compliance by providing guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices.About YouYou have deep expertise in managed funds and regulation, backed by tertiary qualifications in law, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
With substantial experience in senior roles within financial institutions or regulatory bodies,
you have a strong understanding of private markets, including their regulatory, operational, risk, and client service aspects.
Your ability to analyse complex regulatory issues, identify emerging risks, and develop practical solutions ensures you provide sound strategic advice.
You also have a strong grasp of relevant legislation and industry best practices, allowing you to navigate regulatory challenges effectively.You are a skilled communicator with the ability to present clear, concise advice to executives and industry stakeholders.
Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to interpret data, assess market trends, and develop informed regulatory responses.
As a leader and mentor, you support high-performing teams, providing strategic direction and coaching.
Your ability to think critically,
engage with stakeholders, and drive meaningful regulatory outcomes makes you a key contributor to ASIC's work in private markets.The teamThe Market Conduct team seeks to ensure trust and confidence in Australia's financial markets by regulating wholesale funds and market intermediaries (including market participants, investment banks, securities dealers and issuers of over the counter (OTC) products).
Australia's wholesale financial markets are critical to the Australian economy for funding and risk management and have grown rapidly in recent years.The Wholesale Markets Intermediary Compliance team (WMIC) is a specialist team within the Market Conduct team.
It undertakes surveillance of participants in wholesale markets and wholesale private capital fund managers and contributes to the development of market conduct standards.
