Mining
Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you'll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.
What you'll do:
We're looking for a Senior Mining Engineer with strong technical acumen and a passion for delivering innovative solutions. Whether you're focused on open cut or underground operations, this is your opportunity to join a diverse and supportive team working across the full project lifecycle; from concept studies through to execution support.
- Prepare and review mine design for open pit and/or underground mines, scheduling, optimisation, equipment selection, operating and capital cost estimates.
- Conduct technical work in support of due diligence reviews,
supporting mergers and acquisitions under the supervision of Principal &/or Lead Engineers.
- Prepare tenders, proposals and reports in-line with client requirements and expectations.
- Liaise with mining engineers, resource geologists, and specialists from other disciplines and offices within WSP.
- Support the technical delivery of work by more junior engineers.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 6+ years' experience in a mining engineering role, ideally with time in consulting.
- Strong technical background in mine planning and design (open cut and/or underground).
- Excellent communication skills, strong report writing skills and solid analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Solid understanding of the Australian mining landscape and regulatory framework.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
