Are you an experienced ClinicalMidwife Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to lead anexceptional team in a vibrant regional setting? Join us at theWestern Australian Country Health Service (WACHS) in Kalgoorlie,where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery ofmaternity services for our community.
As the Clinical Midwife Manager, youwill manage the services, operations, and resources of theMaternity Unit, ensuring we meet both WACHS requirements and thediverse needs of the regional population. You will provide clinicalleadership, oversee standards of midwifery and neonatal nursingpractice, and ensure the provision of safe, effective, andefficient client care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual whopossesses the following qualities:
- Demonstrated experience in managing Maternal and NewbornServices, including financial and clinical resourcemanagement.
- Proven ability to drive complex change management processesand lead a team effectively.
- Highly developed verbal, written, interpersonal, andnegotiation skills, with the ability to engage a diverse rangeof stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills to facilitateinnovative solutions to sensitive challenges.
- Familiarity with contemporary quality and risk managementprinciples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team within theMaternity and Assessment Unit, Birth Suite, Special CareNursery, and Antenatal Clinic.
- Develop and implement operational plans to utilise human,financial, and physical resources effectively, in line withregional priorities.
- Provide advanced patient care, management, expertconsultancy, and support both within and beyond the hospitalsetting.
- Foster a culturally sensitive environment that supportsAboriginal and other culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Initiate quality improvement, risk management, and changemanagement strategies to enhance services.
- Oversee staffing, rosters, and the recruitment andorientation of new staff to ensure the delivery of high-qualitycare.

Country Nursing and Midwifery IncentiveProgram
The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program isavailable to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broadrange of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanentcontracts at eligible locations.
Eligible nurses and midwives canreceive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months.Please refer to the WACountry Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery IncentiveProgram website for eligibilitycriteria.
