1. Specific Responsibilities to the Role
1.1. Ensure assessments of resident abilities, total needs, and risk factors are completed on admission and updated an ongoing basis.
1.2. Orientate new residents and families to the facility, communicating the principles of resident choice & decision-making including dignity of risk.
1.3.
Ensure resident care plans are current and assessments are completed in required time frames.
1.4. Provide direct leadership and guidance to clinical nursing and care staff to ensure adherence to resident care plans; ensure staff under supervision are fully aware of their responsibilities and duties and able to effectively carry them out and access support and direction when needed.
1.5. Ensure all nursing and resident personal care practices are consistent with established policies and protocols.
1.6. Contribute to staffing training and development to support and grow skill and care levels.
1.7. Conduct annual staff appraisals, monitor performance, and assess competencies as required.
1.8. Submit orders for approval by the Director of Nursing to maintain sufficient levels of stock, medicines, and equipment.
1.9. Liaise with health service partners (e.g. medical practitioners, pharmacists), residents and their families, and other stakeholders to determine optimal care for residents.
1.10. Manage shift staffing resources and rostering as needed to ensure staffing levels are appropriate on a daily basis.
1.11.
Contribute to policy and procedure development; document and report compliments and complaints, incidents, and Quality Indicators to the Director of Nursing.
1.12. Undertake MOA and other clinical audits as directed.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current AHPRA registration.
Aged care nursing experience preferred.
Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills.
Knowledge of aged care regulations and quality standards.
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
