About the opportunity




Join a dedicated research team in the Daffodil Centre (a partnership between the University of Sydney and Cancer Council NSW) working in close collaboration with Melanoma Institute Australia to develop a Roadmap for a National Targeted Skin Cancer Screening Program, funded by the Australian Government. As a Research Assistant, you'll contribute by providing technical and operational support in conducting evidence synthesis to inform the development of the Roadmap of skin cancer screening in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about health research, literature reviews, and making a meaningful impact in cancer prevention at scale.

key responsibilities will be to:

- Contribute to the design and conduct of evidence synthesis, including systematic and narrative reviews to inform the screening program's Roadmap.




- Conduct and maintain detailed records of literature searches, data extraction, and critical appraisal processes, ensuring methodological transparency and accuracy.
- Support the coordination of team and stakeholder meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking key decisions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal team members and external research stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Provide general research and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the project and broader team functions.

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in health or medical science field or a relevant combination of training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting literature reviews,



preferably systematic reviews as a part of a research project within a health research setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a research-intensive environment.
- High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, reference management software (e.g. EndNote or Covidence), and research collaboration tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders and contribute to research reporting and documentation.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to research integrity and accuracy.
