Rabobank has an opening for a Cyber Security Associate. This role is based in Sydney where our Cyber Security Operations team is based. The Cyber Security Operations team is a highly engaged team working a hybrid mix of 1-2 days in the office and other days from home.
The Cyber Security Operations team is multi-disciplinary, and dedicated to defending the bank by ensuring confidentiality,
integrity and availability of the systems and data.As a Cyber Security Associate, you will be responsible for monitoring and protecting the Bank's digital environments by detecting, identifying and responding to existing and emerging cyber security threats.
You will also be responsible for constantly enhancing and improving our detection capabilities, look for ways to automate day-to-day operational tasks, and assist with vulnerability management when required.
**Top Role Accountabilities**:
- Monitor, investigate, triage and report security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Correlate findings during analysis and identify trends between alerts to uncover potential threats not directly exposed via monitoring systems.
- Identify deficiencies in existing security monitoring and propose improvements.
- Actively improve the operational efficiency of the team through automation initiatives.
- Contribute to vulnerability management efforts when required, working under the direction of the vulnerability management analysts on the team.
- Assist other global,
regional and local teams by providing cyber security related advice and information.
- Liaise with global, regional and local stakeholders to ensure procedural consistency and efficiency, as well as tooling operability for anything related to security monitoring or incident response.
- Stay up to date with current and emerging threats in the cyber landscape, as well as the latest security trends and industry best practices.
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
**Essential**:
- Expertise in using logging and SIEM platforms
- Good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Good understanding of network concepts, such as DNS, proxies, subnetting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and business areas
- Ability to think outside-the-box while being detail-oriented
- Self-motivated,
proactive while being able to work as part of a team
**Highly Regarded**:
- Experience with security technologies such as endpoint protection, NDR, network segmentation
- Proficient in a scripting language, such as Python or PowerShell
- Good understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies
