The Financial and Procurement Services Directorate sits within the People and Corporate Services Division and provides systems for managing our people, our finances, and our core business processes, ensuring we can work safely, compliantly, efficiently, and productively.

**The Opportunity**

We are seeking to recruit a Finance Officer to join our Team.

The Finance Officer is accountable to either the Team Leader, Portfolio Reporting or Team Leader, Portfolio Liaison and plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive finance and budget management services to support Financial and Procurement Services. This position involves active participation in continuous improvement initiatives and various finance related projects to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities include managing complex functions associated with assigned programs, projects, systems, and services that align with agency strategies, policies, and priorities.





The Finance Officer uses initiative and works under limited direction to help ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations. Additionally, the role requires conducting investigations, preparing detailed reports with recommendations, maintaining records and systems, and contributing to program development and performance benchmarking. Effective stakeholder engagement through liaison and negotiation with internal and external parties is essential, along with performing extensive research and analysis to provide valuable advice and information.

The Finance Officer also supports the development and implementation of relevant policies, strategies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to achieve program or Section goals and objectives in order to support managers within the business.

**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.





**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment up to 12 months

**Remuneration**
ASO4 - $76,561 to $80,256 per annum
