Are you an experienced nursing professional with a passion for oncology care? The Western Australian Country Health Service is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide expert clinical guidance and leadership within our Oncology Coordination team. In this vital role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality cancer care while promoting best practices and supporting both patients and healthcare professionals in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary ward service, collaborating with all interdisciplinary teams within the region.
- Provide advanced clinical leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals in cancer care.
- Initiate and evaluate research to establish and promote clinical best practices in oncology.
- Develop, implement, and promote evidence-based standards and policies compliant with relevant regulations.
- Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff to build a strong oncology team.
- Manage quality improvement activities and provide clinical statistics and reports as required.
Ideal Candidate:
- Extensive clinical/professional knowledge in oncology specialty
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Sound understanding of human resource principles
- Knowledge of quality improvement and patient safety principles
- Eligibility for a current C or C-A Class Drivers licence
- Progress towards a postgraduate qualification in oncology is desirable

This position is located at the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. is Australia’s largest Outback city where mining, history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth.
Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program:
The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Please refer to the website for eligibility criteria.

The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region,
