We are a compassionate and dedicated team committed to providing high-quality support to individuals with disabilities and their families. We seek a reliable and empathetic After-Hours Disability Support Worker who is great with children and family dynamics to join our team.
**Role Overview**:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide after-hours assistance to individuals with disabilities in their homes or community settings. You will work closely with the individual and their family to ensure comfort, safety, and well-being. Your role will involve supporting with daily tasks, personal care, and promoting independence while fostering a nurturing environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide after-hours care and support for individuals with disabilities.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, and meal preparation.
- Foster positive relationships with children and family members, ensuring a family-friendly environment.
- Encourage social and recreational activities to promote engagement and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with families to understand and meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Maintain accurate records and follow care plans while ensuring confidentiality and respect for privacy.
**Key Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar caregiving role.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and after-hours shifts.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with children and family members.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable personality to providing exceptional care.
- Knowledge of disability support practices, including mobility assistance and personal care (preferred).
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
**Job Type**:
Casual
Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 12 per week
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Night shift
Licence/Certification:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- CPR Certification (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
- Infection and Prevention Control Certificate (preferred)
- Hand Hygiene Certificate (preferred)
