**The Department**
The Rights Management team sits within the Legal division and supports SBS to maximise the value and reach of content through the provision of well-established rights and licensing services.
A key focus is overseeing the entry and management of rights and restrictions information for audio-visual program content in SBS's broadcast management system, IBMS, and other databases which hold SBS rights assets. This supports the smooth delivery of SBS content to audiences.
The Rights Management team also provides rights advice and content licensing clearance services to internal production teams.
**The Role**
We are seeking a Rights Data and Research Assistant to support SBS to achieve and maintain high level rights data integrity across SBS databases.
Reporting into the Rights Management Manager, in this role you will;




- Read and interpret contracts and program records for rights information
- Use established procedures and guidelines to identify rights issues in SBS databases prior to delivery of content on SBS platforms
- Enter rights and other related metadata into SBS systems
- Research and resolve rights related issues, such as copyright ownership conflicts
- Provide an ongoing 'cleanse on demand' of rights and restrictions data in our rights management databases

**About you**
- Experience working with database systems using a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including working with large datasets in Excel
- Experience working in a media and/or content environment is preferred




- Working knowledge of intellectual property rights in a content environment is desirable
- Experience using Operative IBMS Broadcast Management System will be advantageous
