Rabobank's has an opening in Sydney for a Cyber Security Analyst in Sydney. You will be joining the Cyber Security Operations team, a diverse multi-disciplinary team dedicated to defending the business by ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of Rabobank's systems and data.
The Cyber Security Operations team is a tight-knit team.
You are preferably well-rounded and will be actively involved in all of the areas covered by the team. You will have a passion for security, a collaborative spirit and like to present solutions rather than problems.
**Top Role Accountabilities**:
- Monitor, investigate, triage and report security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
- Correlate findings during analysis and identify trends between alerts to uncover potential threats not directly exposed via monitoring systems
- Identify deficiencies in existing security monitoring and propose improvements
- Actively improve the operational efficiency of the team through automation initiatives
- Contribute to vulnerability management efforts when required, working under the direction of the vulnerability management analysts on the team
- Assist other global, regional and local teams by providing cyber security related advice and information
- Liaise with global, regional and local stakeholders to ensure procedural consistency and efficiency, as well as tooling operability for anything related to security monitoring or incident response
- Stay up to date with current and emerging threats in the cyber landscape, as well as the latest security trends and industry best practice
- Mentor Associate Analysts within the team
**To be successful in the role, you will have**:
- 5 years' IT Security experience (e.g. Cyber Specialist, Cyber Security Analyst, SOC Analyst)
- Experience in operational incident response
- Demonstrated experience in using logging and SIEM platforms
- Experience with security technologies such as endpoint protection, NDR, network segmentation
- Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Understanding of security monitoring and incident response within enterprise hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Experience with testing and improving new tooling and driving proof of concept initiatives
- Good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Good understanding of network concepts, such as DNS, proxies, subnetting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think outside-the-box while being detail-oriented
- Up to date knowledge and awareness of industry news on vulnerabilities and attack vectors.
- Working knowledge of the finance or banking industry is highly regarded.
