About the Opportunity
AUSTRAC, Australia's financial intelligence unit and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) regulator, is evolving to strengthen its fight against money laundering and terrorism financing. As we expand our regulatory reach, and leverage international partnerships, we work to protect Australia from serious and organised crime to help build a more resilient global financial system. To help achieve these goals, we are seeking to fill 2 roles - APS6 Specialists, Multilateral Engagement, within the Multilateral Engagement and Coordination team.

APS6 Specialist, Multilateral Engagement
These roles offer a unique opportunity to support regional financial intelligence collaboration,

and support opportunities for joint action on mutual financial crime threats that affect Australia and our international neighbours. You'll support the engagement of key partners, gaining valuable exposure and experience in international cooperation initiatives. You'll have strong awareness of the evolving political, social, and economic landscape in the Pacific and /or Southeast Asia region.

Intelligence
As Australia's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the Intelligence division analyses data and generates key financial intelligence on money laundering, terrorism financing and a wide range of other crime types and national security matters.
In this role, you'll help connect teams across AUSTRAC with regional counterparts for mutual operational gain, drive capacity building in regional FIUs and strongly support and advocate the work of the Pacific Financial Intelligence Community (PFIC) and Financial Intelligence Consultative Group (FICG).

Regulation
The Regulation division is responsible for AUSTRAC's regulatory function. As the AML/CTF regulator,

AUSTRAC regulates more than 17,000 individuals, businesses and organisations and influences them to comply with their obligations under the AML/CTF Act.
In this role, you'll support the delivery of strategy development, programs, activities and reporting covering AML/CTF regulation, relating to the Pacific Supervisors Forum (PSF). Your work and impact will lead to greater collaboration with our Pacific member regulators, multilateral entities and law enforcement agencies.

Each role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic priorities of the Division you'll be aligned to. At application and interview, you will be asked to select and confirm your interest between the 2 areas.
