**Your new team**
Orygen Specialist Program, a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, pro0vides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.
- The Orygen Continuing Care Team in Sunshine and Wyndham provide access to outpatient community care by a multidisciplinary team ensuring comprehensive, collaborative and coordinated care.
- **Your new role**
In this role, you will offer support to families, friends and carers of young people in the Wyndham and Melton areas. In this role, you will also:
- Draw on your Lived Experience of supporting your family member/significant other and offer empathetic listening, providing peer support and information
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide lived experience specific values and perspective
- Have a broad understanding of the differing perspectives of the impact of mental illness health on families/carers and the community Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds
**About you**:
- Personal lived experience as a family, carer or supporter of someone who has accessed public mental health services, preferably a youth mental health service.
- Are determined to make a difference to the health outcomes for young people.
- Qualifications/training in mental health are desirable but not essential.
