About the opportunity
The AOD clinician will work collaboratively with the HOPE team to actively engage clients in the assessment of their own suicide risk and actively contribute to their suicide prevention plan in order to minimize the risk of attempting suicide in the future. The AOD clinician will assist the HOPE team in responding to new referrals in a timely manner, work with consumers and their families and carry out discipline specific duties and assessments. The HOPE team will work in a manner that encourages and invites consumer participation and promotes self-determination. The role includes a component of outreach work, and as such, some weekend and afterhours work will be required.
Qualifications
Registration with AHPRA
- as a Registered Nurse with tertiary qualification in mental health nursing or
- as a Psychologist with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or
- as an Occupational Therapist or
- a recognized degree in social work with eligibility for registration with Australian Association of Social Workers
- Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience including having worked within a community mental health setting.
- Completed Cert IV in AOD training or higher.
- Extensive experience in managing client with AOD issues.
- A current unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence is essential.
