Behaviour Support Practitioner - Core or Proficient Level Full-time State: ACT Job Status: Full Time Welcome to Ability Action Australia! We are expanding our Behaviour Support team and seek experienced, dynamic Behaviour Support Practitioners eager to be part of a multidisciplinary team and make a difference.
You will bring expertise, maturity, and strong organizational and time management skills.
Successful candidates will support NDIS participants in areas including Canberra, Queanbeyan, Tuggeranong, Gunning, Yass, Gundaroo, Belconnen, Jerrabomberra, and surrounding areas. Our work environments vary from childcare centres, schools, aged care facilities, day programs, community settings, homes, to our clinics. We promote a culture of learning, team building, and fun.
This role allows you to use your Positive Behaviour Support skills to develop and deliver evidence-based support plans that reflect our participants' passions and interests, promoting their quality of life. You will also build the capacity and strengths of those important to the participant.

Daily responsibilities include:
Supporting NDIS participants and their families in identifying needs through assessment and person-centered planning. Developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within complex support environments.
Creating meaningful goals and strategies using a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices. Ensuring plans align with participants' passions, goals, and strengths. Building the knowledge and capacity of supporters like family, carers, and friends. Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Practitioners. Requirements: Current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Core or Proficient level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. Experience in mentoring and supervising other Practitioners. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Proactive, motivated by improvement and learning from new ideas.
