About This Opportunity

We are seeking two outstanding academics for full-time positions as Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-class research and teaching in the School’s areas of strength related to bioengineering, bioprocess engineering, biotechnology, and biomedical engineering.





You will demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, service and engagement. In this position you will engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development. You will have a developed research program and conduct high- quality research, along with supervising Higher Degree by Research (PhD and MPhil), postgraduate coursework, and Honours students. You will also perform administrative, outreach and other citizenship and service activities.

About You

Applicants should hold a combination of undergraduate and postgraduate (PhD) qualifications in disciplines related to chemical engineering, bioengineering, bioprocess engineering, biomedical engineering, or biotechnology.

For appointment at Level B, applicants should demonstrate a growing profile in teaching and research in fields relevant to bioengineering and/or bioprocess engineering and/or biotechnology and/or biomedical engineering including a developing national reputation evidenced by publications in refereed journals, along with a track record of securing and managing external research funding. Candidates must also show high-quality teaching experience at undergraduate,



honours and postgraduate levels alongside experience in course coordination and curriculum development. A growing record of supervising honours and Research Higher Degree students to completion is essential, as is experience in meaningful internal service roles and external contributions. Strong communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills are required for collaborative work.

For appointment at Level C, applicants should demonstrate an established profile in teaching and research in fields relevant to bioengineering and/or bioprocess engineering and/or biotechnology and/or biomedical engineering including national recognition in their research area, a developing international profile and a consistent record of publications in refereed journals and conference presentations.



Applicants must also show a strong track record of successfully securing and managing external research funding, alongside established teaching excellence at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels. Additionally, a strong track record of course coordination, curriculum development is required, as is an established record of supervising Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion. Finally, candidates should have a record of meaningful internal service roles as well as strong contributions to external activities.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, mandatory immunisations, etc.
