This exciting opportunity is available to join the NSW Health Sexual Assault and Child Protection Counselling Services team as part of the Integrated Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) team, based at Inverell Community Health Centre.In This Role, You WillLead the delivery of trauma-informed counselling and support services to individuals, families and communities impacted by violence, abuse and neglect across Inverell and outreach areas including Glen Innes, Warialda and Tenterfield.Contribute to the development and implementation of a new integrated service model,



working under the day-to-day clinical leadership of the Integrated VAN Lead.Provide services in alignment with NSW Health Sexual Assault Services (SAS) and Child Protection Counselling Services (CPCS) models of care.Offer specialist clinical support to children under the age of criminal responsibility who present with problematic or harmful sexualised behaviours, using advanced clinical reasoning and trauma-informed approaches.Take an active role in NSW Health's VAN Aboriginal Action Plans, applying the SAS Cultural Safety Roadmap and Toolkit to ensure services are culturally safe and community-centred.Participate in after-hours psychosocial responses to recent incidents of violence, abuse and neglect at Inverell Hospital.This is a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen services in the Northern Tablelands.




You will work alongside two experienced clinicians and collaborate with the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing and Violence Prevention Facilitator (based in Armidale) and the broader Integrated VAN Team.What We OfferBe rewarded with up to $10,000 in the first 12 months PLUS up to $5,000 each year thereafter in fortnightly payments under the Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
*A collaborative, supportive and well-connected multidisciplinary teamStructured clinical and cultural supervisionOpportunities for ongoing professional development and trainingGuidance and mentoring from both the Inverell Community Health Manager and the VAN Clinical CoordinatorNetworking and collaboration opportunities with other VAN professionals across the regionA chance to help lead quality improvement and community engagement initiativesAbout YouYou're a compassionate and experienced clinician with:Expertise supporting clients affected by complex trauma, abuse and neglectExperience working with children, families, and communities in a therapeutic contextCultural competence and a commitment to culturally safe practice, particularly with Aboriginal communitiesStrong clinical reasoning, assessment, and therapeutic intervention skillsA collaborative spirit and confidence working across sectors and agenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to contribute to service developmentWillingness to deliver training to health workers and participate in interagency forumsYou will also be responsible for supervising students and junior clinicians, participating in ongoing training and development, and contributing to best practice in trauma-informed care.RequirementsMust hold a qualification: Psychology, Social Work, Counsellor which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.The knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of a Level 3 Allied Health Clinician.Current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence and ability to travel as part of the role within an outreach capacityAdditional Information* Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract.




All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
