The Role:

Assist the Nursing Director Rostering and Resource Innovation with the project management and implementation of Rostering and Resource Innovation Unit initiatives and in dealings with internal and external stakeholders regarding the delivery of project outcomes.

Provides leadership and coordination of nursing workforce management projects to support a coordinated and consistent approach to Statewide nurse and midwife recruitment,

retention and support processes.

Undertake robust research activities that contribute to nursing and midwifery policy or projects and provide support and coordination to ensure that project activities are aligned to Agency policies, core business functions and relevant legislation, including identifying issues and supporting meetings and negotiations.

Monitor, analyse and evaluate workforce management planning trends to enable strategic directions/priorities to be determined for effective retention and recruitment of the nursing and midwifery workforce.

Develop education resources and provide education as required to support the implementation of policy and/or projects.

The Team:

The Rostering and Resource Innovation Unit is a new statewide service.

This position will be part of a small dynamic team.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day work, position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP for a period of three years

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary:$102,080 - $108,528 per annum + 10% superannuation

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service Agreement) 2019


Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

Relevant Tertiary Qualification

Current Driver’s Licence

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

Conviction checks in the following areas:

crimes of violence

sex related offences

serious drug offences

crimes involving dishonesty

Identification check

Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
