About The Role
As our Business Development Executive, you’ll be hungry to engage and support the business community across the state of Victoria. Whilst predominately office based, you’ll identify new opportunities, build trusted relationships and be a Victorian Chamber ambassador at key networking events.
This is a high-impact role for a driven professional who thrives on results and meaningful engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new membership sales and consulting opportunities through proactive outreach and strategic engagement.
- Deliver business assessments and tailored presentations to prospective members.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline using Salesforce, internal leads, and your own network.
- Represent the Chamber at events and develop bespoke engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align member needs with our full suite of services.
- Maintain accurate data and reporting to inform strategy and performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need a background in sales or business development with a track record of generating new business. Previous consultative selling experience will be advantageous but not essential.
More importantly, you will be a passionate,
self – motivated and commercially minded professional who thrives on building relationships and delivering results. Strong communication skills are key in this role - whether it’s presenting to clients, negotiating terms, or collaborating with internal teams—and you will bring energy and purpose to everything you do.
You Will Bring
- Proven experience in sales or business development, with a track record of exceeding targets.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to identify, develop, and convert new membership opportunities.
- Experience in high-volume sales environments and a solutions-based approach to client engagement.
- Advanced negotiation skills and the ability to tailor services to meet client needs.
- A collaborative approach to working with internal stakeholders in a complex environment.
- A genuine passion for supporting Victorian businesses and contributing to their growth.
- Alignment with the Victorian Chamber’s values of accountability, collaboration, curiosity, and excellence.
