**Mental Health Worker - Drought Relief**

**(remote work option available by negotiation) (Part-Time 0.8 FTE)**
- Part time (0.8 FTE)**,** Fixed term contract, till 30 June 2026

Centacare Catholic Family Services is seeking a committed and caring **Mental Health Workers** for the **Drought Relief** program, delivering one-on-one support to people affected by prolonged drought in regional South Australia.

**About Your New Role**

You’ll meet clients in their homes or local community spaces, providing personalised support that responds to each person’s unique challenges.



From crisis support to connecting people with local services and long-term plans, you’ll play a vital role in helping rural South Australians build resilience and stay connected.

**What You’ll Do**
- Deliver flexible mental health outreach in homes and communities
- Provide emotional and practical support during stress or crisis
- Help clients set personal goals and prepare for transitions
- Connect clients to local services and community networks
- Promote wellbeing, social engagement, and independence

**What You’ll Bring**
- Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs, especially in rural settings
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)

**It’s a bonus if you have these, but not essential**
- Experience working in farming, agriculture, or with drought-affected communities
- Ability to assess and respond to risk in isolated environments

**Special Conditions**




- Some after-hours or weekend work required
- Regular travel across rural areas
- Willingness to use personal vehicle for work (grey fleet); salary packaging may apply
