Salary range $71,894 - $79,595 plus statutory super.

If you fit this profile, then you could join the dynamic Education and Compliance Team within the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch at VIT with an exciting and challenging mandate to enable quality teaching and provide for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
The Education and Compliance Officer role offers an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who is passionate about using their expertise to support VIT in its regulation of Victorian teachers. With knowledge on compliance in a regulatory environment, strong communication skills and sharp attention to detail, the role will ensure VIT is well informed in monitoring the compliance of duty holders, principals,
early childhood leaders and employers through targeted education and risk-based audit programs.

**About the role**
This role will require you to:
- Plan and conduct focused and timely compliance activities, including audits and inquiries.
- Prepare authoritative and high-quality reports and risk based, briefs and correspondence on moderately complex compliance assessments.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, including employers and principals.
- Support the design and evaluation of risk-based compliance activities, including system maintenance and associated reporting.
- Initiate improvements to process delivery in the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch.
- Be accountable for assessing and managing risk,
including by identifying the need to escalate matters as appropriate.
- Provide specialist support to other members of the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch to enable high quality regulatory compliance activity to be undertaken within agreed timeframes.
- Model Victorian public sector values, VIT behaviours and contribute to a positive culture and working environment both within the Teacher Engagement and Registration branch and across VIT.
- Undertake other duties as directed by Manager Education and Compliance / Director Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch.
**About you**
- Well-developed organisation and planning skills and demonstrated ability to sequence work to meet agreed outcomes and deadlines.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly explain concepts, legislation, policies,
and processes to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills underpinned by sound analytical capability.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships.
- Demonstration of the VIT behaviours and Victorian public sector values, behaving in a principled and respectful manner at all times.
- Experience in undertaking risk-based compliance activities in a regulatory environment and/or experience in the education system is highly desirable.
