Role Purpose

The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all logistics, inventory management, and administration functions are performed efficiently and accurately. This role includes the timely and accurate receipt and shipment of goods,



inventory management, stock take participation, and vendor relations.

The Logistics Officer plays a key part in maintaining optimal stock levels, managing returns, addressing non-conformance issues, and ensuring smooth internal and external communication regarding logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive and ship goods accurately, ensuring data entry into the financial system.
- Participate in quarterly stock takes and reconcile discrepancies.
- Distribute job routing sheets and support stock turnover.
- Process product returns to vendors and ensure adherence to supplier time limits.
- Investigate and resolve non-conformance issues, preventing future occurrences.
- Monitor and manage consumable stock levels and place orders as necessary.
- Handle inventory adjustments and miscellaneous cash sales.
- Oversee stationery and miscellaneous item purchases, ensuring competitive pricing.
- Manage Compaq price protection rebates and stock takes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and freight companies.




- Perform miscellaneous logistics tasks as required and contribute to quality processes.

Experience

- Proven experience in logistics, inventory management, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of store operations and supply chain management
- Proven ability in receiving, shipping, and data entry of goods.
- Experience in conducting stock takes and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Familiarity with vendor relations and managing product returns.
- Strong problem-solving skills for non-conformance and stock issues.
- Competence in inventory management systems and software.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- Relevant certifications in logistics or inventory management preferred.




- Ongoing professional development in logistics or supply chain management is desirable.
