The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Practitioner Newborn Care to join Gold Coast Health GCH where the focus of our 10 -strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.r>

You will

Manage day-to-day care of patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Please apply online , providing clinical support and a professional example to nursing and junior medical staff

Develop, implement and review a holistic, evidence-based model of care in collaboration with the wider Newborn Care team and the Nursing Director

Be responsible for collecting and presenting data relevant to the agreed Key Performance Indicators

Work autonomously, but will seek direction, advice or assistance from other members of the team

Hand over critically unwell patients or any outstanding investigation results to NP or medical staff taking over care at the end of shift

About you

To be successful in this position you will require

Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent

Important Company Registration

Masters of Nursing or equivalent

Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella Chicken Pox, Pertussis Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B and COVID

Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination be required

Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

The Newborn Care Unit supports an active multidisciplinary education and research program, and is also an ongoing participant in the Australian New Zealand Neonatal Network.ecent innovations in care include the establishment of a Neonatal Early Discharge program, predominantly for premature infants requiring nasogastric feeds but otherwise able to be discharged home.old Coast University Hospital maternity service offers multiple models of care including illness targeted antenatal clinics, eligible private Midwives, Midwifery Group and a comprehensive postnatal home visiting program.here is a full range of specialist obstetric care including a Maternal Fetal Medicine service, based in Southport.r>
