The role



The Senior Medical Officer reports to the North West Hospital and Health Service Executive Director of Medical Services, and is responsible, to provide clinical care to patients and clinically manage, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care, delivered to the highest professional and ethical standards.p>Mornington Island Gunana is located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, about 444km north of Mount Isa and 28km off the coast of mainland Australia.t has a unique natural environment and is renowned for its rich Indigenous culture and internationally acclaimed artwork that has emerged from the community.r>



The Island achieved self-governance in 1978 and is now controlled by the Mornington Shire Council .p>



The Traditional Owners of Mornington Island are the Lardil people.p>



The facility is a remote level two 2 hospital under the Rural and Remote Clinical Services Capability Framework with 11 inpatient beds; providing 24/7 acute inpatient and accident and emergency care as well as a comprehensive range of community health services.p>



The requirements



Current registration with, or eligible for registration with, the Medical Board of Australia Important Company.r>The applicant will hold

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners FRACGP

Fellowship in Advanced Rural General FARGP

Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine FACRRM

The position require the incumbent to be rostered outside of ?ordinary hours? typically working 10 hours shifts on an 8 on/6 off fortnightly roster or an 8 on/ off monthly roster .r>Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.ertified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.r>



Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences, evidence of these will be required prior to appointment.re-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate; this include criminal histo.
