**About the opportunity**

We're currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer (full-time permanent) to join our team based in Clayton South, Melbourne VIC.





The role of the Payroll Officer is to ensure that all the end to end payroll processes are completed by the deadlines, to ensure all employees are paid according to their awards within the correct timeframes; and all the accounts payable invoices are processed, approved and paid prior to the due dates.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position has the responsibility for ensuring that all the payroll tasks are completed within the strict payroll deadlines. The main responsibilities include; payroll processing, employee payroll profile maintenance, entering new starters, accounts payable processing, responding to queries, payments, deductions, reporting, reconciliations.

A day in the life as the Payroll Officer with CareChoice, will see you supporting our finance team with:

- Generating payroll for approx. 650 support workers on a fortnightly basis




- Maintaining employee profiles in the payroll system
- Fortnightly and monthly payroll reporting
- Validating the payroll files prior to payments; checking correct awards, overtime rules, wage rates, time worked, department codes and other checks to ensure an accurate payroll is processed
- Complete offline/adjustment payments, backpay and overtime calculations
- Process workers compensation and reimbursements
- Processing Accounts Payable invoices on a weekly basis.
- Caretake duties in the absence of the Payroll Manager

**About you**

As an enthusiastic and reliable professional willing to learn quickly, you will have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ideally you'll have an understanding of end-to-end payroll procedures (experience with the following will be beneficial);
**_ Ideally you'll have:_**
- Working knowledge of the SCHADS (Social,



Community, Home Care and Disability Services) and Nurses Award
- Salesforce, 2c9
- Experience with NDIS, community services sector or shift worker payroll

**_ Qualifications required_**
- Bachelor/Degree in Finance/Business/Accounting or equivalent payroll experience
- TAFE qualification in Bookkeeping/Accounting/Payroll or equivalent
